The main job description of a stockbroker is to sell stocks to clients, ether while working for a company or for a brokerage firm. Of course, before aspiring stockbrokers can land a job in the grueling field of the stock market, they are required to meet certain technical requirements first. An extensive series of training and classes, under a brokerage firm, fill the life of an aspiring stockbroker. This should last for at least four months. Once the period has passed, the aspiring stockbroker can then take the first licensure exam, which is the General Securities Registered Representative Examination in the United States.
After this first exam has been passed, most states would require the aspiring broker to take another exam, which is the Uniform Securities Agents State Law Examination. Both of these exams will asses the extent of the aspiring stockbroker’s knowledge of the behavior of stock market. Passing both exams merit the stockbroker license; however, as this only bestows the title of stockbroker trainee. Another series of training and classes are required, this time for at least two years, before one can be called a full-fledged stockbroker.
Stockbroker trainees can start working for brokerage firms and corporations once they receive their license. in the course of a few months, training coupled with hard work and dedication, will bring about a successful stockbroker career.
